Stonehenge is one of the most famous dive sites in the Tarutao National Marine Park. This underwater fantasy land features mysteriously shaped granite pinnacles covered in soft corals of every color—white, pink, yellow, orange, red, and purple. Divers will also encounter countless anemones, vibrant orange gorgonian sea fans, and massive barrel sponges. It’s a must-dive site in Koh Lipe for both beginners and experienced scuba divers.
Located roughly 8 miles south of Koh Lipe, 8 Mile Rock is a submerged pinnacle and one of the last world-class dive sites in the Andaman Sea. It serves as a cleaning station for large pelagics, making it a hotspot for whale sharks, manta rays, eagle rays, leopard sharks, giant barracuda, and groupers. If you’re looking for big fish action during your dive trip to Thailand, this site is unmissable.
Koh Sawang offers massive granite pinnacles surrounded by endless fields of brilliantly colored soft corals. The scenery changes dramatically at every turn—one moment you’re gliding over huge boulders, the next you’re drifting along a colorful wall. This dive site is like swimming through an underwater garden, with multi-colored corals creating a spectacular backdrop for underwater photography.
Koh Pung is well known for its ripping drift dives. In the shallows, divers find bright pink and purple corals covering smaller boulders, while deeper sections showcase larger boulders in shades of white and purple. Strong currents here create an exhilarating experience, perfect for advanced divers who enjoy the sensation of underwater “flying.”
Koh Taru is a rocky reef featuring a very healthy coral garden in the shallows. Divers will find coral bommies, barrel sponges, rocky ledges, and small boulders teeming with marine life. This site is especially famous for hosting one of the largest schools of snappers in the Tarutao National Marine Park, making it a paradise for underwater photographers and fish lovers.
